Be Here Now

Thanks Sara, I needed this! It's hard to focus on being present when filled with so much grief over losing my brother. I've been keeping myself really busy so I have a hard time stopping to think and to feel. The music reminds me of when I used to go to Martha's Vineyard every summer with a previous boyfriend. It has the feel of this music. We spent time driving down roads with trees on either side like the video. We used to rent a house with friends. We went to the beach every day. To get there you had to cross a pond in a canoe or boat. There would be families of swans drifting by. Wild roses bloomed everywhere. We would go to the beach in the morning and leave when it was time for dinner. Timelessness. Be Here Now!

Signs on the Golden Gate Bridge

Click photos to enlarge. I never noticed the amount and kind of signage you see on the GGB.

Meditation

Seek not to follow in the footsteps of the men of old, seek instead what they sought. ~ Basho

Here is a list of meditations that one of my friends has on her website

When Your Brother Dies

When your brother dies, your childhood fades, there being one less person to remember it with, and you are left disinherited, unarmed, semi-literate, an exile. It's like losing your computer and there's no backup. Garrison Keillor.

Developing the 6th sense

Remembering Another

Lucila Margarita Cortés Horta de Camberos

Mima, as she was called by her family, was the oldest living relative I've met who knew my great great grandmother Josefa Carrillo Fitch. I had the pleasure of spending last Christmas with her. What an intelligent, gracious lady, even at her advanced age. You and your family are in my heart and prayers, Mima.
