Energy
Weekends are usually my time to recover from the week, but this past weekend was so full of activity. I already talked about JoeAnn's renewal ceremony that was so awesome. Yesterday was my 3 year old grand niece's birthday. We had a small get together for her birthday. She was supposed to have a big party at her paternal grandmothers' but she canceled at the last minute due to surgery. So we had a nice day around the pool, had presents and cake and just hung out as a family. Whew, it's exhausting to be around a 3 year old! Her mom was tired because she's working nights and working at her externship during the days. So her 3 year old was acting out. How do they know to do that when mom is most vulnerable? Are they trying to balance the energy output in the universe or something? We all had to amp up to deal with her. Seems like when one person's energy is low, the rest of us ought to be be calm to help them recharge. Oh well, whatcha gone do with kids! Even having had 4 small dogs does not equal the amount of energy one little girl can put out. OMG, is this what is to come with our sweet grandson? He is so happy and mellow right now, and fits right into any group setting. I'm tired from buzzing around yesterday and thinking about the future as a grandma. LOL! There must be something about our memories that erases the past ...how when one was younger you could go to a Chuck E Cheese's birthday party and not flip out. Whew...even thinking about it is exhausting. I guess that is why we RETIRE when we're older. We have to make up the energy we expended when we were younger, again and again!
